As I go door to door and meet the citizens of District Three they continue to overwhelming express to me that the three greatest issues facing Powhatan are skyrocketing taxes, sky high assessments, and reckless rates of growth.  These issues affect Powhatan’s ability to provide a quality education and protect its environment.

As stated in the Powhatan County Virginia Comprehensive Plan: ‘If the County continues to experience rapid, scattered residential development, it risks a fiscal crisis due to the need to continue to expand it(s) public facilities and services, particularly schools.’ Powhatan County Virginia Comprehensive Plan, 1998-2018, page 68.

Thus I  Pledge to:

·         Fight against spiraling real estate assessments & tax increases.

·         Control residential growth & ensure sound commercial growth.

·         Ensure a quality education for all Powhatan’s children.

·         Protect Powhatan’s natural resources and rural nature.
