My name is Barry Hodge and I am running for the
Board of Supervisors for the 3rd District in Powhatan County.
I have lived in Powhatan with my wife and four
children for many years now along with running my own small business
in Powhatan’s Historic Village Courthouse area.
Over the years, Powhatan’s
reckless rate of
residential growth and
skyrocketing taxes have concerned me greatly along with the state of our
overburdened roads.
Finally, last year’s 21 percent increase in real estate taxes
combined with sky high real estate tax assessments motivated me to
run.
Families, retired citizens, the disabled, and
citizens on fixed incomes have been saddled with burdens that are
driving us to the borders of Powhatan rather than allowing us to
live in the County we have called home. Powhatan cannot
continue to be governed as it has in the past by what many citizens
have told me is the politics of the “Good Ole Boys.”
The time for change is now. A vote for me on
Nov. 6th is a vote for change.
